Education is one of Sasria’s strategic pillars, and we are proud to support initiatives that provide young learners with the resources they need to thrive. We take our commitment to empowering through education seriously. This year, we took great pride in supporting initiatives that invest in the education of young people. We did so through impactful initiatives, such as our bursary programme, which has so far benefited many young people who have successfully completed their degrees, including Lungile Langa, a qualified CA now in the employ of one of South Africa’s top audit firms. Education does empower, and Sasria is there to see it through.
Heritage Day Mega Career Fair
We also had the privilege of being part of the Heritage Day Mega Career Fair, an initiative that aligns with our commitment to transforming lives through education. Our participation in this event allowed learners to access valuable information about our bursaries, learnerships, and internship programmes, providing them with opportunities that enhance skills, allows for practical experience, and continuation of their educational journeys.
Insurance Institute of Gauteng’s (IIG) MiDesk Project
Another initiative that we did in partnership with the Insurance Institute of Gauteng (IIG) is the MiDesk project, where Sasria sponsored branded MiDesks, which are innovative portable desks and chairs that are designed to help learners, particularly those without access to traditional study environments. These wheelie bags are equipped with a solar light and a USB charging port, making them an invaluable tool for learners who face challenges like unreliable electricity or limited space for studying.
Adopt-a-School Foundation
We continued with our partnership with the Adopt-a-School Foundation. This collaboration focuses on improving Curriculum and Leadership, with projects that aim to enhance both teaching and learning in schools across South Africa. One of the key projects under this initiative is the School Leadership Advancement Programme (SLA), alongside the Foundation Phase (Grade R-3) and Intersen Phase (Grade 4-7) Educator Development projects, all of which are being implemented at Lot Phalatse Primary School in Hebron, Northwest Province. These projects are carefully aligned with the developmental needs of both educators and learners, focusing on improving management skills, teaching effectiveness, and student outcomes.
As part of this program, Sasria has contributed to the professional growth of the educators at Lot Phalatse Primary School. This year, we celebrated a significant milestone with the graduation of educators who completed the School Leadership Programme. The event marked the handover of their SETA certificates, a symbol of their dedication and commitment to enhancing their leadership and teaching skills. Sasria remains dedicated to empowering both teachers and learners, and we look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of these projects at Lot Phalatse Primary School.
